Jewish Community Center

The Jewish Community Center of Indianapolis (JCC Indianapolis) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information through our website, www.jccindy.org, and our JCC Indianapolis mobile app, provided through our third-party technology partner, Daxko.

JCC Indianapolis Mobile App Privacy Policy

The Jewish Community Center of Indianapolis (JCC Indianapolis) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and guests. This privacy policy applies to our website and the JCC Indianapolis mobile app, which is operated through our third-party technology provider, Daxko.

The mobile app provides access to membership information, facility check-in features, fitness activities, wellness challenges, and other JCC services.

Location Data

The JCC Indianapolis mobile app may collect location data only after a user has granted permission.

This includes background location access to support a feature that detects when a user is near a JCC facility and provides a notification allowing convenient access to their membership barcode for check-in.

Location information is processed directly on the user’s device to trigger relevant notifications. Location data is not stored by the app, stored on our servers, or shared with third parties.

Users may manage or disable location permissions at any time through their device settings.

Health and Fitness Data

The JCC Indianapolis mobile app allows users to participate in optional fitness and wellness challenges by connecting to Google Health Connect and/or Google Fit.

When users authorize access, the app may collect and process the following information:

Step Count: Used to track progress toward daily or cumulative step goals in fitness challenges. Step totals are accessed only for challenges the member has joined and the applicable challenge dates.

Walking and Running Distance: Used to track miles completed toward distance-based fitness challenges, including progress toward established goals and daily limits.

Active Calories Burned: Used to measure progress in fitness challenges based on calories burned. The app does not request unrelated body measurements or other energy data.

Floors Climbed: Used to track progress in challenges involving flights of stairs climbed. Availability depends on whether the user’s device supports this measurement.

Health and fitness information is accessed only with user authorization and is used to calculate challenge progress, display completion percentages, and determine anonymous participant rankings.

Relevant activity totals are synchronized with the member’s facility account to support challenge participation and progress tracking.

Health and fitness information is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with advertisers.

Users can manage or revoke access to their health and fitness information through their device’s applicable health data and application permission settings.

Data Retention and Deletion

JCC Indianapolis and its authorized technology providers retain personal and membership information as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, administer membership accounts, support fitness and wellness activities, maintain appropriate business records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Location information used for facility proximity notifications is processed on the user’s device and is not stored by the mobile app or on JCC Indianapolis servers.

Health and fitness activity totals associated with challenges may be synchronized with the member’s facility account to calculate progress and maintain challenge participation records.

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable data management procedures.

Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information by contacting JCC Indianapolis through the contact information provided on our website.

Deletion requests will be reviewed and processed in accordance with applicable laws and recordkeeping obligations. Certain information may be retained when necessary for legal, financial, administrative, or security purposes. Contact the JCC directly by phone 317-251-9467

Third-Party Technology Provider

The JCC Indianapolis mobile app is provided through Daxko, a third-party technology provider supporting membership management and mobile app services.

Daxko may process information necessary to provide app functionality, manage member accounts, facilitate check-ins, and support fitness and wellness challenges on behalf of JCC Indianapolis.
